The South Africa Work eVisa is a term commonly used for online processing of work-related immigration applications, but applicants should distinguish the electronic application process from the underlying work visa category. South Africa provides several work visa options, including general work visas, critical skills work visas, and intra-company transfer visas. Applicants must meet the specific requirements for the category that matches their employment circumstances. A standard ETA does not permit work in South Africa. The Department of Home Affairs specifically states that work is not permitted on an ETA. Applicants should therefore obtain the appropriate work authorization before beginning employment. Supporting documents can include employment evidence, qualifications, professional registrations, and other documents depending on the visa category.
