Long-term cultivators frequently keep a single mother plant for years and take cuttings from her at the start of each cycle. Many favor regular weed seeds for this purpose, as they come from a conventional cross and are generally considered less prone to intersex traits than feminized lines. A reliable mother delivers consistent clones with predictable timing and yield. Replacing her is only necessary once vigor noticeably declines.
